The Boys' Tournament started in 1978 and the Girls' in 1998. The Boys' tourney typically consists of 32 teams.
The Girls reached 13 in 2003. Teams travel from as far as Windsor, Norwich, Watkins Glen, & Corning, New York....
and Cowanesque Valley, Troy, Towanda, and Montrose in Pennsylvania.
Many excellent athletes have participated over the years in this widely recognized competition. Former Division I and III
college standouts such as Notre Dame University center Phil Hickey from Wellsboro, Jim Ryder of Siena, Dave Siock of Syracuse,
Jay Danzi of Dartmouth, Ryan Napp of Gettysburg and William Campbell of UAB all played and were named All Stars in the tournament.
Tyler Reynolds who played at Cleveland State and is now at Kutztown is continuing his excellent career.
Waverly's Katie Histed, now at Div I Pittsburgh, played here as well as Athens' Kelly Burkhart (Bloomsburg) &
MaryEllen Onofre (East Stroudsburg). Villanova-bound Kyle Dougherty was co-MVP as a 7th grader for Tioga.
